Facebook Page vs Facebook Account
Firstly, let’s understand how is a Facebook Page different than a Facebook Account. A Facebook Page is your business’s digital presence on Facebook. A Page has tools to help you grow your business, connect with customers, and see how people interact with it. A Facebook Account on the other hand allows a maximum of 5000 Friends or Connections. Besides, to facilitate Facebook Ads, you need to have a Facebook page and not a Facebook account.
Benefits of having a Facebook Page are:
- Support a digital shopfront for your business
- Connect with customers and people interested in your business
- Unlock business tools and advertising opportunities to grow your presence and reach your goals
- Can have multiple admins/editors to manage a page without giving access to your personal profiles
Step 1: Choose the Right Category
Choosing the right category will unlock various options in each category. The Facebook page gives you better options to target local audiences and business interests via Facebook Ads.
- Business or Brand: Any type of business or a registered brand can opt for this category. Facebook has evolved to accommodate various types of businesses and subcategories.
- Community or Public Figure: This kind of option allows any Non-Governmental Organization or Charity or Political Party or Figure to take this option. Any individual also can choose this category. Choosing this category is best for influencers and other individuals who are in a process of branding themselves and increasing their following.
Step 2: Name Your Page
The name you enter into the category field will be the name of your Page. Use regular spacing, do not add a .com at the end of your name unless that is part of your branding, and do not make your Page name too long. You can change the name up until the point where you have 200 Fans, and then the process to make a name change becomes much harder.
Remember to keep your Facebook Page name concise and similar/same as your Brand or Business Name. If any one searches your business they will identify the same only on your brand name or logo. This will help you set your Facebook page to look Professional.
Step 3: Add a Description / About Section
Write an elaborate description in your about section. It would not be of any harm if you copy and paste the same from your website once you have made one. If you are starting off with a Facebook Page directly you can write a creative one for Facebook. Making your page look professional will depend on how well you write this short and long description to your page.
Step 4: Add Your Logo / Profile Picture
A profile picture for Facebook is a Square Image. Preferably 180 x 180 Pixels. Make sure that the image is not too small or very big as it would get cropped up. Ideally fixate your logo in this place to give your brand better visibility.
Step 5: Add a Username and Contact Details
A Facebook page will look professional only when if has a proper username. For example, My business https://electrocurve.com has a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ElectroCurve. This makes it easier for advertising and other purposes where I can then market it as @ElectroCurve on Facebook. Clients can hit the link easier and it has better memory.
Contact Details on your page will help you increase reach to your customers. Giving the open and close timings will help your customers know when you can service them.
Step 6: Use a Good Cover Image and CTA
Your cover photo is critical because it acts as a mini-business card. When people hover over your Facebook Page name in the News Feed, the cover photo appears. Consider adding a tagline or description about what you do on the cover photo itself.
CTA is nothing but Call to Action. Call-to-action (CTA) buttons help you, direct people, to shop, book a reservation, and more. Learn how they work in this video. You can even link your business WhatsApp Button on your Facebook Page according to newer updates.
Step 7: Post to Make Your Facebook Page Looks Professional
Before you start publicizing your Page, make sure you have added 5 to 10 new posts to have some content. These posts help people know more about the types of things you will be sharing with them. Share plenty of helpful hints about your niche to make your Page more interesting to your community.
The Posts you post can be directed to fulfilling the needs of your business or your target audience. The more helpful your page is to the target audience, the higher chances of them following you.
